Losing weight is a long-term process which cannot be successful in one day or two days. Actually, weight shedding is a troublesome journey to a lot of overweight women, it takes persistence and effort each day.

Ever since I was a nine-grade student everyone had called me with the cordial nickname “pumpkin” as my figure was just round and chubby just like a pumpkin. At that time I did not care much about my appearance because it did not have much impact on my life. While many others went on a diet to stay in shape, I still ate freely whatever I like. Then came the summer and my friends exhilaratingly suggested buying material to make an “ao dai” (Vietnamese traditional long skirt) since we would have to wear ao dai in our high school. Not until then did I really feel shameful and embarassed about my figure. When the tailor measured my body, I started to feel frustrated with my fatty shape. And then in the first year of high school I always went to school with the ill-speaking and vilifications from my schoolmates. My inbalanced figure with the height of 1.55 meter and the weight of 65 kilos always drew attention from others.
I shared with my mom about what I had been experiencing, I almost got depressed in the first semester. My mom then researched various methods for me to lose weight quickly. It was a extremely painful period of time. Not only did I workout for hours each day, I also had to refuse my favorite dishes. My day started at 5 o’clock in the morning.
5:00 a.m: The alarm clock rang, I had to get up and prepare everything for a run of at least 3 km and some stretching exercises such as pullups, weight training and badminton. I spent at least 1 hour for a whole-body exercise. I had a light brakfast with salad and a glass of non-sweetened milk. After that, I went to school then came home at 4:30 pm, I continue to work out until 7 p.m.
4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.: I went to a fitness center to do various exercises with the guidance of a coach.
6 pm to 7 pm: After doing aerobics I walked on the treadmill for an hour before going home for dinner.
My dinner was a small bowl of rice with some vegetables. Each morning I must only have food rich in protein such as meat, fish and eggs. Other meals during the day, I ate mainly vegetables and fruits. My mom did not force me to eat little but to eat plenty of vegetables and limit on amount of protein and starch.
Besides, I had to drink a lot of water every day. Drinking much water help you gain weight but if combined with scientific exercise schedule, it can make the weight loss process become more effective.
I had strictly followed my weight loss regime for more than a year. My weight shed considerably, although I still looked pretty chubby, I was satified with my figure.
Now I have lost weight successfully with slim and toned body. Due to that now I am more confident to be in a crowd and wear beautiful clothes to hang out with friends.
I share my success story here with the hope of giving confidence and inspiration to overweight women so that they can persuit the desired slim body.
