A perfect body does not necessarily mean 6 pack abs or hour-glass figures. A perfect body needs to be healthy and fit and toned to the correct weight for one’s body type. A lot of people go for crash diets or over exercising to lose weight. Such methods may work for the short term but would end up having adverse effects in the long run.
The simplest way to lose weight is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Getting adequate rest by avoiding too many late nights and drinking plenty of water are a good start towards fitness. As far as diet is concerned, it is not necessary to survive on carrots and celery sticks in order to lose weight. You would only end up bingeing on fatty foods at the end of such a diet. The most sensible way to maintain a good diet is to eat small amounts 5 or 6 times a day instead of eating too much for the thee main meals of the day.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as many experts will tell you, and must never be avoided. Surviving on just a cup of coffee or a piece of toast in the morning is not a good idea. A good meal at the beginning of the day will cause you to eat moderate amounts for the rest of the day. You should try and avoid too much junk food like aerated drinks, chips, pizzas, burgers but having it once in a while will not cause harm. Try and limit yourself to junk food only once a month. Introduce more fruits and vegetables in your diet and reduce your alcohol/nicotine consumption.
Adequate exercise is a must to lose weight. A brisk walk for half an hour every morning and/or every evening can also work wonders. If you go to the gym, pace yourself well. Make sure to do cardio exercises for atleast 20 minutes before handling weights. Make sure to take the advice of the trainer to ensure that you do correct exercises. Aerobics followed by floor exercises like yoga are also good ways to lose weight.
All the methods mentioned above are easy to follow and do not involve too much expenditure if you so choose. A fun way to keep fit might be to join non-sedentary activities like dancing or some outdoor sports. Try it. You’ll feel like a whole new person!
